It is particularly effective as a deterrent to persons carrying weapons such as knives into schools, used as a knife scanner it will quickly locate a concealed knife, silently if preferred with its discreet vibrate function. The detector is factory preset to maximum sensitivity. The New Terascan metal detector features a sensitivity reduction switch to help minimize rebar interference while scanning at ankle level (near rebar floors or other ambient metal). An audible alarm or silent vibration alarm and a visual signal indicate the detection of any metal. Large scan surface of this metal detector enables quick and thorough scanning.
